Comms 4 Devt Jobs Board #106
Check out this week's 51 new comms roles on the board!
Hey friend,
How are you?
What a week! (I know I say that every week but when are global events going to settle down?). Aside from wondering why the US attacked Iran, here’s what I’ve been reading on the global front:
A really interesting podcast about Germany rearming for the first time since World War II and shifting perceptions in and around the country. This really significant change in foreign policy was prompted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine 4 years ago, and more recently by growing tensions with the US.
“There was a time not so long ago when the prospect of German military leadership in Europe sent tremors of fear through its neighbours” - but not anymore.
Hard power is one way to combat and defuse conflict but I much prefer the subtle workings of soft power, or soft diplomacy. Which is nicely illustrated by the global influence of brands like Pokemon.
It’s also great to see pop culture idols like Bad Bunny empowering multiculturalism at a time when ethnic and racial discrimination are more confrontational than ever.
Finally, I was keen to read about ways to ditch Big Tech (aka Big Brother selling our data to who knows) and claw back a bit of integrity and privacy into our over-digitalised lives.
And it’s comforting to know that good comms starts with a pen and paper, and not the digital realm. So there.
Now, let’s get stuck into this week’s 51 awesome roles.
The Comms 4 Development Jobs Board is a weekly list of paid roles (no volunteer or intern roles) and carefully curated by yours truly.
The C4D Jobs Board is for communications professionals in the global development sector.
All roles are open to non-locals and in developing countries only.
You won’t find anything else like it.
And it’s delivered straight to your inbox bright and early every Tuesday morning (AEST). For the bargain price of $US10/month.
Paid subscribers get the full deal, 2 hours ahead of everyone else, while free subscribers get 10 roles picked at random.
I do the hard yards finding these gigs so you don’t have to! You’re welcome.
