Welcome to the LIGO Creative Substack website. I'm very glad to have you here but I also need to share with you some important legal disclaimers relating to Privacy. This is all standard policy which covers both you and me. By reading or using the LIGO Creative Substack, you choose to accept and agree with the following. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use this site.

Privacy policy

LIGO Creative is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines my ongoing obligations to you.

I have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which I collect, use, disclose, store, secure, and dispose of your personal information.

The Australian Privacy Principles are available at the website of the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Your privacy is very important to me. Any information collected on this site is not and will never be sold or shared with third parties. This is how your information is used on the LIGO Creative Substack:

• Your name and email address are collected when you subscribe to the Comms 4 Development Jobs Board to send you the newsletter

• Your name and Substack handle are shown when commenting on blog posts

Any information you provide is used solely for the stated purpose unless you agree in advance to additional use. You may request at any time to be removed from my lists. Details will only be supplied to a third-party supplier when it is required by law.

All credit card information is made through Stripe. I never see or have access to any subscriber financial information.

Personal information

Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of personal information collected on this site may include names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers.

I collect your personal information for the primary purpose of providing services and information to you, and for occasional marketing, such as announcing a new training course or other product. It is not used for any other purpose. I will also never disclose your personal information to a third party without your approval.

When I collect personal information, I will, where appropriate and possible, explain to you why I am collecting the information and how I plan to use it.

Sensitive information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union, or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

Sensitive information will be used by me only:

• For the purpose for which it was obtained

• With your consent

• Where required or authorised by law.

Note: I have never yet used anyone’s sensitive information in any of my external communications.

Third parties

I will collect your personal information only from you as outlined above. However, in some circumstances, I may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case, I will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to me by the third party.

All links provided on this site are intended for the purposes of information, inspiration and/or marketing. External links are third-party websites which are controlled by other parties. I have no control over, or responsibility for, their content. 

Security

Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, I will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. However, most of the personal information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by me for a minimum of 7 years.

Security for LIGO Creative material is maintained by Squarespace, Substack, and Stripe, all of which support SSL certification and other security measures. However, no internet exchange is 100% guaranteed safe. You acknowledge that any information submitted through this site could be accessed by a third party and shared without my knowledge or permission, and I cannot be held responsible for any action or claims arising from such a situation.
